Doi
Intanon is Thailand's tallest peak and home to the greatest variety
of
bird species to be seen in the Kingdom.
From the mountain's peak, hike, bus,and raft through the lush and
unspoiled valley of the Mae Jaem river. The trip offers an unusual
opportunity to interact with people in a traditional Thai village.

Suggested Trip - 3 Days/2 Nights
DAY
1
Pickup at hotel in Chiang Mai city and proceed to the 2,500
meter high peak of Doi Intanon. Start the 3-hour walk along
a nature trail, which leads you past trees cloaked in rare tropical
mosses, rhododendrum, ferns and orchids.
While descending from one ecological zone to another, your guide
will point out some of the numerous species of birds encountered
here. Lunch and dinner in the forest and overnight in a tent
campground located in a pine forest.
DAY 2
After breakfast, board van to Mae Jaem, a lush valley dotted
with small villages and rich in culture and tradition. Enjoy
a traditional herbal sauna and have lunch with a housewives
group organized to improve village life.Overnight at the Khao
Krairas Resort, rustic bungalows sited at a fine viewpoint on
the riverbank.
DAY
3
Starting at the Ob Luang gorge, raft along the Mae Jaem River
over Class II rapids through forest interspersed with granite
rock faces.
Lunch at the resort and return by van to Chiang Mai city.
